I visited Japan this past November and was worried that because I wasn’t making a trip to Osaka that meant I wouldn’t see traditional dress. Just the opposite. I saw women, men and children in traditional dress everywhere I went. On the very first day I was treated to a viewing of a traditional wedding at the Meiji shrine right in Tokyo. There are celebrations for the children when they reach the ages of 3, 5 and 7 (I believe I got that right) and when those celebrations take place, the mom, and sometimes the dad, will also put on their traiditional ware. It’s really fun to catch the beautiful outfits and the Japanese are a very fit and good looking people so it’s quite the experience every singly time – never gets old. The pictures you see here were taken in Tokyo, Nikko, Kamakura, and Takaosan – in other words, every where I went!
